About The Position

Are you a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant who enjoys supporting patients and working as part of a collaborative care team? Care Alliance Health Center is seeking a Medical Assistant to help deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in an outpatient primary care setting. As a Medical Assistant, you will play an important role in creating a positive patient experience, supporting clinic operations, and helping our providers deliver efficient, compassionate care to the diverse communities we serve. The Medical Assistant provides both clinical and administrative support to the care team. This role is responsible for preparing patients for visits, collecting and documenting clinical information, supporting providers during exams and procedures, and helping ensure smooth daily clinic flow. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program and certification
  • One to two years of recent experience in a medical or clinical setting
  • Understanding of patient care practices, medical terminology, and clinical procedures
  • Basic knowledge of coding procedures, including CPT and ICD-10
  • Familiarity with clinical pharmacology within scope of practice
  • Experience with electronic health records, preferably Epic

  • Experience in primary care, community health, or ambulatory care
  • Experience using electronic health records

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist patients in a professional, respectful, and culturally responsive manner.
  • Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs, medical histories, and current medications.
  • Ensure accurate patient demographic and clinical information is documented.
  • Assist with patient intake and discharge processes.
  • Support providers during examinations and procedures.
  • Administer medications and immunizations as directed by a provider and within scope of practice.
  • Perform phlebotomy and collect laboratory specimens.
  • Conduct basic laboratory tests as appropriate.
  • Explain treatment instructions, medications, and care plans to patients as directed by the provider.
  • Accurately document patient information, test results, and care activities in the electronic health record.
  • Support coding and documentation processes for billing and insurance purposes.
  • Clean, disinfect, and prepare exam rooms and equipment between patients.
  • Maintain organized, safe, and stocked clinical workspaces.
  • Support patient flow to ensure timely and efficient care delivery.
  • Communicate patient concerns, needs, or changes in condition to appropriate staff.
  • Participate in team huddles and daily clinic operations.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements.
