About The Position
This is a per diem Medical Assistant position for an Urgent Care setting. The role involves supporting the medical team in providing patient care.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Proficiency in taking vital signs and performing basic medical procedures.
- Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in an urgent care or emergency setting.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Bilingual abilities (English/Spanish).
Responsibilities
- Assist physicians and other healthcare professionals with patient examinations and procedures.
- Take vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration).
- Collect patient history and document information in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Perform basic laboratory tests and specimen collection.
- Administer medications and immunizations as directed.
- Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical equipment.
- Educate patients on treatment plans and follow-up care.
- Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality.
- Assist with front desk duties as needed, including patient registration and scheduling.
