Functions under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or LVN at all times. Reports to Charge RN OR, Business Supervisor and DON.
Requirements
- BLS certified
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- One year experience in a Medical setting
Responsibilities
- Assist with admitting patients from the waiting room to the pro-op area
- Assist with dressing patients in proper surgical attire before surgery
- Hook-up patient monitors and obtain first set of vital signs and record
- assist patients during transfers on/off gurney
- Keep PACU supplies well stocked
- Provides pre/post-operative care and instructions.
- Assists in surgery by preparing the laser room with supplies and sterilized equipment.
- Stocks all medication and medical supplies by proactively planning work week to ensure completion of required tasks.
- Calls to request pre/post-ops on surgery patients.
- Orders all medical supplies.
- Keeps up with all regular and emergency maintenance on medical equipment.
