Opportunity Overview We have an immediate opening for a Per Diem Medical Assistant to join our team at IVF Florida in Jacksonville, Florida. Schedule: On call/as needed, with rotating weekends and holidays This role provides the opportunity to grow within a nationally respected organization while remaining closely connected to the patients and teams you support every day.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required
  • Minimum of one year of MA experience in a healthcare setting and familiarity with medical terminology
  • 6 months of phlebotomy experience required
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail, demonstrated ability to follow-through, and high degree of comfort with computer applications; accuracy and speed with data entry is required

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree preferred
  • Completion of a formal MA or Phlebotomy program preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform a high volume of phlebotomy
  • Maintain supplies for the blood drawing stations
  • Ensure lab specimens are sent to the proper labs
  • Document patient care services utilizing daily logs and patient records
  • Utilize the computer in entering labs and printing labels
  • Assist physician or ultrasound technician with various procedure
  • Assist with HSGs as needed
  • Take vital signs and provide general clinical assistance
  • Assist with the clinical care of fertility patients
  • Provide patient/couple counseling, procedure teaching, and communicate physician orders and instructions
  • Provide pre and post-op education
  • Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients and patients' families
  • Support and promote excellence in customer service
