About The Position

Cara Mia Dermatology is seeking highly motivated individuals interested in a medical career for our year-long internship and medical assistant position. This role is ideal for "bridge year" students who have graduated or are graduating from undergraduate school and have not yet applied or been accepted to medical school. This program, now in its 18th year, has a strong track record of graduates pursuing successful careers as physicians or physician assistants. We are looking for individuals available for a full twelve-month commitment, offering comprehensive Medical Assistant training and hands-on experience in the dermatology field. Reliable transportation is essential due to the need to travel between surrounding offices. This is a paid, full-time internship for recent or soon-to-be graduates.

Requirements

• Must be available for a twelve-month period

• A car or reliable transportation is a must
• Authorization to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Assist the physician with all patient care duties including triage of patients
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) data entry
• Writing and understanding prescriptions and their uses
• Biopsy preparation and clean up
• Surgical assisting and clean up
