Mass General Brigham relies on a wide range of professionals to advance its mission of patient care, research, teaching, and community service. As a not-for-profit organization, we strive to provide exceptional care. We believe that high-performing teams drive groundbreaking medical discoveries. This role is part of a new model for primary care that emphasizes team-based care, where care teams partner with each patient to define and achieve their health goals. This is accomplished by providing superior access to care, information, and tools that promote collaboration and increase patient self-management. The design of care teams, clinical operations, and information technology ensures staff are well-supported and can effectively use their unique skills. Reporting to the clinical program manager and/or practice manager, the medical assistant is an integral member of their care team, working collaboratively to provide superior care and service to a panel of primary care patients. The Medical Assistant will have a global view of the day, supporting the patient, provider, and other team members to ensure comprehensive and efficient patient visits and task completion. All team members, including physicians, are expected to continually critique their roles and offer suggestions for improvements and efficiencies. Medical Assistants may be asked to support other teams as needed and can expect the same support from colleagues.
