This is a full-time Medical Assistant position within the Occupational Health department. The role involves providing patient care according to the Medical Assistant scope of practice, adhering to all policies and procedures, and maintaining competency. Key responsibilities include performing patient visit tasks such as taking vital signs, reconciling medications, reviewing medical history, and conducting health screenings. The position also involves assisting providers with procedures, performing laboratory duties like venipuncture and specimen collection, and administering medications and vaccines safely. Additional duties may include medication refills, insurance authorizations, patient messaging, supply ordering, and scheduling appointments. Effective communication, teamwork, and maintaining a clean, well-stocked work environment are essential. The role may also involve training new teammates or serving on committees. The Medical Assistant must demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate for the age of the patients served, understanding growth and development principles.
