Medical Assistant Bariatric/ Wound Care
About The Position
As a Medical Assistant in our Bariatric Clinic, you'll play an essential role in supporting patients throughout their weight loss journey. Working alongside our bariatric providers, you'll help deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while ensuring each visit is organized, efficient, and focused on helping patients achieve their health goals. Every patient who walks through our doors is taking an important step toward improving their health. As a Medical Assistant in our Bariatric Clinic, you'll help provide the support, encouragement, and clinical care that empowers patients to achieve lasting lifestyle changes and better health.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience
- Current BLS Certification required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a busy clinic
- A compassionate, patient-focused approach to care
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for office visits, examinations, and minor procedures
- Obtain vital signs, weight, medical histories, and update electronic medical records
- Educate patients on pre- and post-operative instructions as directed by the provider
- Assist with medication administration, injections, and clinical procedures within scope of practice
- Coordinate referrals, diagnostic testing, prior authorizations, and follow-up appointments
- Communicate with patients regarding treatment plans, questions, and ongoing care needs
- Support physicians and advanced practice providers in delivering exceptional bariatric care
- Provide compassionate customer service while encouraging and motivating patients throughout their healthcare journey
