About The Position

Hartford HealthCare Medical Group is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA, EMT, CNA) to provide basic clinical and clerical support in the delivery of patient care within the Medical Assistant scope of education. This role involves continued training and offers opportunities for professional and interpersonal development through a MA career ladder program. The position offers variety by floating to other offices based on business needs, allowing collaboration across multiple teams and communities. Additional responsibilities and career advancement are available through a clinical ladder based on experience, skillsets, and certifications.

Requirements

• Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR an active CT CNA, EMT, Paramedic or Medic Certification OR relative experience.
• Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• All required credentials to be maintained throughout employment.
• In lieu of education requirement, at least one year of experience in direct patient care (acute or ambulatory space) may be considered.

Nice To Haves

• Relevant experience or MA externship in a busy medical office preferred.
• EPIC EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic clinical and clerical support in the delivery of patient care within the Medical Assistant scope of education.
• Experiences continued training of all aspects of the Medical Assistant role.
• Takes vitals, performs outside medication reconciliation, outside allergy reconciliation, screenings, patient history, and virtual health.
• Conducts point of care testing including quality control and documentation.
• Assists providers with in-house procedures as needed.
• Provides administrative support including scheduling, chart prep, referrals, check in/out, prior authorizations, and transportation facilitation.
• Floats to other offices based on business needs.
• Travels between offices, bringing variety to the workday and the chance to collaborate across multiple teams and communities.
