About The Position

Support the care team by performing clinical and administrative tasks that are vital to patient care. Medical Assistants must adhere to all relevant regulations and guidelines to ensure patient safety and confidentiality. They are expected to maintain a high level of professionalism and compassion during all interactions. Our experienced team of pulmonologists can diagnose and treat a range of lung and respiratory conditions. Our pulmonologists treat pulmonary hypertension, chronic obstructive lung disease (COPD), asthma, cystic fibrosis, sleep apnea, emphysema, chronic bronchitis, pulmonary fibrosis and other respiratory diseases. We also specialize in the treatment of pulmonary heart disease. Using a coordinated, multispecialty approach, our specialists access advanced tools to accurately diagnose the underlying causes of pulmonary heart disease. Our pulmonary heart disease team will work with you to develop an individualized treatment plan that works best for you. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must have a medical assistant diploma or 2 years of medical assistant experience or be a certified MA with 2 years of medical assistant experience, to qualify.

Nice To Haves

  • Phlebotomy skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients and support their transition into care.
  • Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.
  • Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures.
  • Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
  • Perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
  • Document care accurately in the electronic health record.
  • Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high-quality, coordinated care.
