About The Position

Boone Memorial Health is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and detail-oriented Medical Assistant (MA) to join our outpatient clinical team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with patients, supporting healthcare providers, and helping create a positive and efficient clinical experience. As a Medical Assistant, you will play an important role in both patient care and clinic operations while working in a collaborative healthcare environment focused on quality, compassion, and professionalism.

Requirements

• High School Diploma required
• Completion and certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program required
• Current Medical Assistant certification required
• EMR experience preferred
• One year of healthcare or clinical experience preferred
• BLS Certification preferred or required within 90 days of hire
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong customer service and interpersonal abilities
• Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments
• Obtain and document vital signs and medical histories
• Assist providers during examinations and minor procedures
• Perform specimen collection and blood draw procedures
• Perform waived laboratory testing and EKGs
• Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by licensed providers
• Screen and follow up on patient test results
• Recognize medical emergencies and provide First Aid when necessary
• Maintain accurate and confidential medical records
• Support patient flow and assist with quality patient care delivery
• Schedule appointments, procedures, and follow-up visits
• Update patient charts and medical documentation
• Assist with insurance forms and billing processes
• Maintain inventory and order clinical supplies
• Coordinate lab testing and prescription refill requests
• Communicate professionally with patients, providers, and insurance companies
• Ensure patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times
