About The Position

As a Medical Assistant (MA) joining their Cardiology Clinic team, you will be dedicated to making communities healthier. North Alabama Medical Center, opened in 2018, is a regional facility with over 200 physicians on staff representing more than 42 specialty areas of medicine.

Requirements

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• High School diploma preferred.
• CCMA, CMA or RMA preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) obtain within 60 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection.
• Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition.
• Documents patient care given.
• Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
• Maintains examination areas.
• Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
