About The Position

Merakey is seeking a Medical Assistant to join their team in Philadelphia, PA. This is a full-time, first shift position, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM. The Medical Assistant will assist providers with examinations, measure vital signs, prepare charts and rooms, maintain patient flow, respond to emergencies, complete EKGs, draw bodily fluids, and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis. Merakey is a non-profit provider of developmental, behavioral health, and education services, employing over 8,000 individuals across 12 states.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Medical Assistant certificate.
• Must be able to work Monday-Friday, 6:30am-3:00pm

Nice To Haves

• Certification in phlebotomy preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) year working as a medical assistant, preferably in a behavioral health setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with the examination of people in recovery (PIRs).
• Measure vital signs, prepare charts for provider.
• Prepare room for examination by provider.
• Maintain steady flow of PIRs in medical department.
• Respond to medical emergencies.
• Complete EKGs.
• Complete required documentation timely.
• Draw and collect bodily fluids.
• Prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
