About The Position

Sentara Center for Plastic Surgery is seeking a Medical Assistant non-certified in Charlottesville, VA! This role involves performing patient care and administrative/clerical tasks and procedures under the supervision of a healthcare provider. The Medical Assistant will work Monday through Friday, 40 hours a week, with shift times from 8:30 AM to 5 PM. Occasional floating as needed is also part of the role.

Requirements

One year of clinical/administrative experience required
High School Diploma or equivalent required
BLS is required within 90 days of hire.
Certification must be received within (9) nine months of employment in one of the following certification programs: CCMA- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant or CMA- Certified Medical Assistant or RMA- Registered Medical Assistant or EMT- Emergency Medical Technician

Nice To Haves

Phlebotomy experience preferred
Patient care exp highly preferred

Responsibilities

Performs patient care and administrative and clerical related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations.
Works under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
