About The Position

Corewell Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for their Pediatric Cardiology practice. This role is part of a large medical and surgical practice specializing in congenital heart disease from infancy to end of life. The Medical Assistant will work in pods with other MAs or ACTs to support providers, performing tasks such as chart prep, EKGs, and placing cardiac monitors. The practice has multiple locations and a large team of cardiologists, surgeons, APPs, and fellows.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent Required
• Successful completion of a competency-based medical assistant training program Required
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required within 90 Days
• One of the following Required within 120 Days: AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA), NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)

Nice To Haves

• 1 year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting Preferred

Responsibilities

• Work in pods with another MA or an ACT to facilitate a smooth workflow for providers.
• Perform chart prep.
• Perform EKG on most patients.
• Place cardiac monitors when ordered during clinic.
