The Medical Assistant will prepare and room patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs and gathering/documenting/updating pertinent health information. They will monitor and complete Clinical Integration/Quality Improvement measures, perform laboratory procedures, and assist physicians/advanced practice professionals with procedures. The role involves administering routine medications, following through with necessary procedure or test requests, and communicating effectively with patients and the healthcare team. Additional tasks may include basic and advanced clinical support skills based on specialty and competencies, such as suture/staple removal, specimen collection, phlebotomy, EKGs, spirometry, Holter monitor application, and prescription refills under clinical supervision. The position requires the ability to provide age-appropriate care and demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles.
