For more information, visit www.eyecare-partners.com . This is a part-time position at the St. Charles Surgery Center. The office is open Monday-Friday 6am-4pm. You will typically work Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 6:45am-3pm (24 hours per week), but this schedule may vary as needed. You may need to work a little earlier/later as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • One year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Critical Thinking – Ability to prioritize, plan and implement patient care within the scope of their practice.
  • Ability to handle stress associated with prioritizing multiple tasks.
  • Possesses above average organization skills.
  • Interpersonal / Teamwork – Demonstrates a positive, friendly and courteous manner.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Amkai Office and Amkai Charts Database software is preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Proficient in using printer, copier, telephone and fax machine

Responsibilities

  • Serve as support personnel, under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN), in accordance with established regulations for the practice of Medical Assistant/Tech, Federal, State, and accreditation standards and company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in direct patient care and maintain a clean, orderly and safe environment.
  • Perform duties in an ethical and legal manner within the scope of their certification.
  • Maintain medical records in an accurate and legible manner.
  • Stock inventory, clean stretchers and change bed linens.
  • Bring patients snacks after surgery.
  • Comply with HIPAA regulations.
  • Participate in continuing education/in-service training as needed, staff meetings, and Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program.
  • Maintain effective communication with patients, families, Physicians and other staff.
  • Assist in training new staff when needed.
