About The Position

Water's Edge Dermatology, an AQUA Dermatology portfolio practice, provides medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology, plastic surgery, vein care, and radiation oncology. The Medical Assistant assists providers during patient visits, including consultations and surgical procedures. The ideal candidate is positive, energetic, intelligent, dependable, organized, and able to multitask. The role may require travel between locations.

Requirements

• Demonstrate compassion and caring when dealing with patients and coworkers.
• Prioritize tasks, understand provider instructions, and know when to seek information or advice.
• Have proficient written and verbal communication skills.
• Be able to travel between locations.
• Hands-on experience in a clinical setting; the employer will train the right candidate.

Nice To Haves

• Medical Assistant certification, Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) license, or LPN qualification is preferred.
• Dermatology or surgical experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers in delivering quality patient care.
• Greet patients and prepare them for examinations and treatments.
• Provide side-by-side assistance during surgical procedures.
• Sterilize instruments and help keep exam rooms clean and organized.
• Review medical histories and maintain accurate, confidential patient records and documentation, including notes in the EMR system.
• Obtain appropriate consents when necessary.
• Call in prescriptions, perform patient callbacks, and handle administrative duties as needed.
