The Medical Assistant provides basic clinical and clerical support in delivering patient care within the scope of Medical Assistant education. The role includes continued training in all aspects of Medical Assistant responsibilities and is based in an ambulatory wound care center. Requirements

Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
At least one year of experience in direct patient care in an acute or ambulatory setting.
Obtain a Certified BLS Provider credential from the American Heart Association within 90 days of hire or job transfer and maintain required credentials throughout employment.
Read and understand oral and written instructions and communicate effectively in English.
Demonstrate customer service skills and HIPAA compliance.
Adhere to quality and safety standards.
Read and understand medical terminology.
Have basic computer and organizational skills.
Demonstrate attention to detail in all aspects of work.
Manage time and productivity without immediate supervision.
Work as part of a dynamic team.
Be flexible in responding to schedule changes as necessary or requested.

Nice To Haves

Active Connecticut CNA, EMT, Paramedic, or Medic certification.
Relevant experience or a Medical Assistant externship in a busy medical office.
EPIC EMR experience.
