About The Position

We are seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to join our fast-paced urgent care clinic in Santa Clara. In this hourly role, you will work closely with providers and clinical staff to support high-quality, efficient patient care. You will perform a variety of clinical and administrative tasks, including direct patient care procedures and basic office support, while helping maintain a smooth patient flow in a busy urgent care environment. This position requires reliability, strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-moving setting with diverse patient needs.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient, urgent care, or similar clinical setting
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent training
  • Current MA certification/registration as required by state or employer policy
  • Proficiency in performing EKGs, venipuncture, vital signs, ear lavage, and injections
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday and some weekends in a full-time, hourly role
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced urgent care environment with varying patient acuity levels
  • Basic computer skills and experience with electronic medical records
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, organization, and reliability
  • Current BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain prior to start date

Responsibilities

  • Support providers in a fast-paced urgent care setting, ensuring efficient patient flow and timely care
  • Greet and room patients, verify patient identity, and prepare exam rooms for visits
  • Obtain and document accurate vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints in the electronic medical record
  • Perform clinical procedures such as EKGs, venipuncture, injections, and ear lavage in accordance with clinic protocols
  • Prepare and label laboratory specimens and assist with basic point-of-care testing as directed
  • Assist providers with examinations, minor procedures, and treatments, ensuring patient comfort and safety
  • Maintain clean, stocked, and orderly exam rooms, equipment, and supply areas
  • Follow standard infection control, safety, and quality protocols at all times
  • Provide clear patient instructions as directed by providers and respond to patient questions within scope of practice
  • Support front office and administrative tasks as needed, including scheduling, documentation, and coordination of care
  • Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other team members to deliver coordinated, patient-centered urgent care
  • Work scheduled shifts Monday through Friday and some weekends, with flexibility to meet clinic needs
