Requirements

  • High School GED or High School Graduate
  • Satisfactory completion of a formal Medical Assistant program pursuant to the Division of Allied Health Professions or military training that is equivalent to an accredited Medical Assistant program (determination by Dignity Health Medical Foundation H.R. department in conjunction with the State Division of Allied Health Professions) required
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire

Nice To Haves

  • Six (6) month's experience in an outpatient setting as a Medical Assistant

Responsibilities

  • Ensure smooth daily operations for your patients and the medical team.
  • Support multiple patients daily, depending on physician availability.
  • Proactively prepare patient charts.
  • Assist with patients exams or procedure and relay physician instructions.
  • Administer physician-directed medication and perform accurate vital sign measurements.
  • Manage medical records (charts and EMR).
  • Communicate patient concerns to providers.
  • Collaborate with physicians, insurance, and pharmacies for medication authorizations and refills.
