About The Position

The Medical Assistant (MA) provides direct patient care to assigned patients to Women’s Health. The MA works under the direct supervision of the clinic nurse(s) by assisting in the examination and treatment of patients.

Requirements

  • High School, GED or formal educational equivalent.
  • Current BLS
  • Completion of Medical Assistant training program at an accredited institution.
  • Excellent communication skills, basic computer skills, strong work ethics and accountability.
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an ambulatory care setting.
  • One (1) or more years of MA experience

Responsibilities

  • Prepares treatment rooms for examination.
  • Assists with medical procedures and examinations
  • Conducts patient interviews, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and phlebotomy.
  • Performs EKG’s, dressing changes.
  • Administers approved medications.
  • Researches and scribes physicians’.
  • Orders/accession orders for clinical laboratory or appropriate processing center.
  • Performs administrative tasks by registering and scheduling patients for appointments, procedures, etc. using the various registration and scheduling systems.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
