About The Position

As a Medical Assistant, you will work with a team of dedicated OB/GYN Providers, Midwives, Nurses, Sonographers, Nutritionists, and other associates that are dedicated to women's health, prenatal healthcare, and the healthy development of infants. Our OB/GYN Department provides our patients with free pregnancy screening daily. This Medical Assistant position will support the department with coordinating this effort and will also be directly support our OB/GYN providers within exam rooms.

Requirements

• High School Diploma required.
• Medical Assistant Certificate or completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
• 1 year of related experience in the healthcare sector.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is required.
• Flexible work schedule.
• Proficiency with computers and software (previous training on electronic health records is a plus).
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to multitask.
• Kindness, compassion, and patience.

Responsibilities

• Prepares examination rooms, stocks inventory, and sterilizes instruments.
• Obtain vital signs, chief complaint, and medical history and accurately records in medical records.
• Goes the extra mile to put patient at ease and provide information related to procedures.
• Assists providers during all aspects of exams, treatments, and procedures.
• Registers and verifies patient demographics.
• Supports administrative needs of department as necessary.
• Schedules appointments and recalls patients for required services.
• Contacts patients with missed appointments.
• Promoted women's health and ensures all patients receive quality services.
