About The Position
Western NC Community Health Services (WNCCHS) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) seeking a passionate and dedicated full-time Certified Medical Assistant to join their team. WNCCHS is committed to caring for patients with purpose and integrity and providing support to their team members. Requirements
- One (1) year as medical assistant in an outpatient health care setting
- Extensive phlebotomy experience
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs and Electronic Health Records systems.
Nice To Haves
- Current certification as a Medical Assistant
- Postsecondary technical course(s)
- Medical Assisting education
- Fluent in Spanish, Russian and/or Ukrainian
Responsibilities
- Perform clinical duties under the direction of a physician, nurse practitioner, or registered nurse
- Perform phlebotomy, and process specimens for patients of all ages
- Set up medical examination rooms, prepare and administer medications and vaccines
- Obtain vital signs and patient information
- Obtain EKG’s, assist with wound care and minor surgical procedures e.g., removal of benign cyst
- Serve as a preceptor for new staff
- Assist in administrative duties as needed, including handling calls
