About The Position

The Medical Assistant is an integral part of the MinuteClinic team and helps provide a welcoming, efficient, and high-quality guest experience. The role supports practitioners during visits by rooming patients, collecting histories, vital signs, and specimens for simple tests, and preparing and administering vaccinations while providing educational materials. The Medical Assistant maintains guest privacy under HIPAA, protects and appropriately disposes of personal health information, and helps keep clinic areas neat and clean. The position involves multitasking across the front desk, waiting area, and exam rooms; greeting guests, managing check-in and wait-time expectations, answering calls, and providing information about insurance co-payments, billing, and service charges. The Medical Assistant also maintains clinical knowledge and counseling skills, communicates opportunities and recommendations to providers, supports clinic workflow and quality standards, manages supplies and point-of-care testing controls, and participates in community outreach initiatives. This is a seasonal contract role that floats to nearby locations. Work schedules are created in six-week blocks after three weeks of training and orientation. Shifts are typically 7–10 hours during clinic operating hours, usually two or three weekdays and every other weekend, with some major holidays required.
