About The Position

Assists in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. This role involves interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, recording information on patient charts, and preparing treatment rooms for examinations. Travel is required for this position.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 0-2 years of experience in a related field
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR)

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient intake in a clinic setting, including manual BP, pulse, respirations, height, weight, medication reconciliation, pain assessment, and collection of medical history.
  • Assist physicians with injections, splint and cast application/removal, and wound care.
  • Perform pre-visit planning for clinic visits.
  • Utilize the electronic medical record system for patient charting, including entering demographics, medications, vitals, history, allergies, processing orders, and managing referrals.
  • Complete patient forms such as FMLA, STD, and Workers' compensation.
  • Perform scheduling duties for clinic visits, procedures, and surgeries.
  • Handle precertification procedures for in-clinic procedures.
  • Manage phone calls, patient complaints, and medication inquiries.
  • Upload, label, and route hospital operation/surgical notes and dictation, and communicate with the billing team.
  • Prepare surgery documents, including history and physical and consent forms.
  • Sanitize all patient care areas between patients and at the end of clinics.
  • Inventory and stock patient exam rooms.
  • Schedule depositions and physician meetings when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
