Temporary, Part-time Medical Assistant
About The Position
The Center for Weight and Eating Disorders at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks a temporary, part-time medical assistant to support industry-sponsored trials of novel weight loss medications, including GLP-1s, for individuals with obesity participating in ongoing randomized controlled trials. The position assists with vital signs, phlebotomy, and electrocardiograms and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team that includes a registered dietitian, nurse practitioner, research coordinator, and endocrinologist. The role is time-limited to cover an employee on family leave, from November 2026 to March 2027. Hours are 8 AM to 1 PM, Monday through Friday, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Requirements
- Medical assistant certification.
- At least 2 years of experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist with vital signs.
- Perform phlebotomy.
- Perform electrocardiograms.
- Work on industry-sponsored randomized controlled trials of novel weight loss medications for individuals with obesity.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including a registered dietitian, nurse practitioner, research coordinator, and endocrinologist.
