About The Position

Sun River Health is seeking a Full Time Medical Assistant to support our Henry Street location in Beacon, NY. The Medical Assistant helps patients and the clinical team by supporting medical care as directed by nursing and medical staff, adhering to the Center's objectives and policies. This role involves performing job duties in compliance with systems and job-specific standards, as well as additional assigned tasks.

Requirements

• High School diploma/ GED with Medical Assistant Training Certificate
• 0-1 year of related work experience

• Associate's degree with Medical Assistant Training Certificate

Responsibilities

• Completes the rooming process, takes vital signs, vision, and/or hearing tests, and records patient data in eCW (laboratory results, pain level, PEAS, PhQ, Smoke status, etc.). Documents the reason for the visit.
• Performs in-house labs, collects specimens for outside labs (e.g., Pap, cultures), and performs quality control in accordance with organizational protocols.
• Maintains clinical area stock and orderliness, ensuring dated materials are current and outdated supplies are disposed of.
• Cleans and sterilizes all equipment, logging each instance of service.
• Performs basic clerical work in the service area, answers phones appropriately, communicates problems/concerns to the nurse, and handles telephone inquiries.
• Ensures all appropriate logs are maintained.
