About The Position

The Medical Assistant assists with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a nurse practitioner, registered nurse, licensed practical nurse or physician. This role involves performing select clinical duties, interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, and recording information on patient charts. Additionally, the Medical Assistant prepares treatment rooms, handles basic clerical duties such as answering phones, maintaining records, and filing, and performs basic materials management functions including ordering and stocking supplies. The position also requires assisting with maintaining a clean and orderly environment and working in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

Requirements

• High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience
• Wisconsin ONLY - High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience, and graduate from a medical assistant school or training program or education equivalency for certification
• Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)

Responsibilities

• Assists with treatments ordered by provider as supervised by provider, registered nurse or licensed practical nurse.
• Performs select clinical duties.

• Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
• Performs basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing.
• Performs basic materials management functions to include ordering and stocking of supplies.
• Assists with maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
• Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
