About The Position

We are seeking an experienced, patient‑focused Medical Assistant to support a single provider in a busy primary care/Dermatology setting. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, is confident assisting with procedures, and is committed to delivering high‑quality, compassionate care. You will help care for 20–30 patients per day and play a key role in ensuring smooth clinical operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, CCMA)
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience required.
  • Primary Care or Internal Medicine experience required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Active MA certification and ongoing continuing education required.
  • EHR experience preferred; basic computer literacy required.
  • Skilled in vital signs, EKGs, specimen collection, and assisting with procedures.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to multitask, follow workflows, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Professionalism and accountability aligned with organizational values.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Dermatology experience is a plus.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Complete patient intakes, including vital signs, medical histories, and medication/allergy reviews.
  • Assist the provider with examinations, minor procedures, wound care, and diagnostic testing.
  • Perform EKGs, immunizations, and specimen collection per policy and competency standards.
  • Prepare, label, and process laboratory samples and point‑of‑care tests.
  • Maintain infection control, safety protocols, and equipment calibration.
  • Support patient triage, care coordination, and transitions across clinical settings.
  • Educate patients on medications, treatment plans, chronic conditions, and preventive care.
  • Document all clinical data and provider instructions accurately in the EHR.
  • Schedule and track appointments, referrals, authorizations, and test results.
  • Verify insurance coverage and assist with prior authorizations, billing, and coding.
  • Maintain inventory and prepare exam/procedure rooms with necessary supplies.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and safety drills.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Uphold HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, and all compliance standards.
  • Provide excellent customer service and culturally competent care.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
