About The Position

Sun River Health is seeking a Full-Time Medical Assistant to support our Riverhead location. The Medical Assistant helps patients and the clinical team by performing various tasks in support of medical care, as directed by nursing and medical staff, and in accordance with the Center's objectives and policies. This role involves performing job duties in compliance with established systems and job-specific standards, as well as any additional assigned tasks.

Requirements

• High School diploma/ GED with Medical Assistant Training Certificate
• 0-1 year of related work experience

• Associate's degree with Medical Assistant Training Certificate

Responsibilities

• Completes the rooming process and takes vital signs, vision, and/or hearing tests.
• Records patient data in eCW, including laboratory results, pain level, PhQ, Smoke status, etc., and documents the reason for the visit.
• Performs in-house labs and collects specimens for outside labs (e.g., Pap, cultures).
• Performs quality control in accordance with organizational protocols.
• Keeps the clinical area stocked and organized, ensuring dated materials are current and outdated supplies are disposed of.
• Cleans and sterilizes all equipment and maintains logs of these services.
• Performs basic clerical work in the service area, answers phones appropriately, and communicates problems/concerns to the nurse.
• Handles telephone inquiries.
• Ensures all appropriate logs are maintained.
