About The Position

As a Medical Assistant, you play a vital role in supporting providers and nursing leadership to deliver quality and compassionate care to patients. Your responsibilities include administrative and clinical tasks that ensure a seamless patient experience, from greeting patients to assisting during examinations and procedures. Your work directly contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of patient care.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160 hour minimum). OR Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five (5) years. OR Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in clinical medical assisting. OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). OR Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years. OR Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years
  • Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
  • Successful completion of HFMG pharmacology class and test.
  • Current BLS-C certificate.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).

Responsibilities

  • Greet and escort patients to the exam room, ensuring a welcoming and comfortable experience.
  • Take medical histories and measure/record vital signs accurately.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring they are informed and at ease.
  • Assist physicians during examinations and procedures, providing necessary support.
  • Demonstrate clinical competence in performing a wide variety of clinical skills related to ambulatory patient care.
