About The Position

The Medical Assistant (MA) works under the direct supervision of the clinic physician by assisting in the examination and treatment of patients. The MA will conduct patient interviews, measure vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and record information on patients' Electronic Medical Records (EMR). The MA will also draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis. Also prepares treatment rooms for the examination of patients. The MA may also perform administrative tasks by registering and scheduling patients for appointments, procedures, etc., using the various registration and scheduling systems.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Successful Completion of Medical Assistant training from an accredited program
  • BLS (CPR) Certification
  • Ability to perform point-of-care testing
  • Ability to draw and collect blood specimens
  • Ability to prepare specimens for laboratory processing
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment

Nice To Haves

  • Pediatric experience
  • Vaccines
  • Phlebotomy
  • A minimum of 1 year of pediatric, vaccines/injections, phlebotomy, and MA experience required
  • Two years of experience in an ambulatory care setting
