About The Position

At Forefront Dermatology, Medical Assistants are an important part of the patient experience. They work side-by-side with dermatology professionals, build relationships with patients, and gain hands-on experience in a growing specialty. The role is suitable for people with previous healthcare experience as well as those looking to continue building a clinical career.

Medical Assistants help keep the clinic running smoothly while supporting patient care. Duties are limited to those permitted by applicable state law and within the employee’s training and demonstrated competency. State-specific requirements may include registration, credentialing, training, supervision, or other qualifications. Certification is not required unless applicable state regulations require it.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• A passion for providing a great patient experience.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• A collaborative, team-first approach.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Ability to obtain the Certified Dermatology Technician (CDT) designation within the established timeframe.
• Meet any applicable state-required credentials or qualifications.
• Perform duties only as permitted by applicable state law and within training and demonstrated competency.

Nice To Haves

• Previous medical office or clinical experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and room patients and prepare them for their visits.
• Assist clinicians during exams and dermatologic procedures.
• Support clinical documentation and scribing.
• Prepare exam rooms, instruments, supplies, and specimens.
• Provide patients with basic care instructions as directed by the clinician.
• Support patient calls, medication workflows, prior authorizations, and clinical follow-up.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient clinical environment.
• Perform additional clinical responsibilities based on training, demonstrated competency, and applicable state requirements.
