About The Position
Marathon Health is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join their team. The Medical Assistant is a vital part of the care team, working closely with a primary care physician to provide excellent patient care and an exceptional guest experience. In Marathon Health's unique model, Medical Assistants manage the entire patient experience, functioning as both a Medical Receptionist and performing clinical duties. This role involves direct patient interaction, clinical procedures, administrative tasks, and collaboration with the care team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Medical Assistant, preferably in Primary Care.
- Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program or other related program.
- CPR/BLS certification required at time of start date.
Nice To Haves
- National or state-specific MA certification or registration is strongly preferred.
- MA certification or registration is required for employment in States where certification/registration is required.
- Phlebotomy experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Escort patients to rooms and ensure exam rooms are cleaned and stocked.
- Review previous medical information and gather updated health information from patients.
- Take vitals, perform blood draws, administer injections, bandage wounds, and assist with procedures.
- Work with contracted labs for additional tests.
- Prepare and administer approved medications and immunizations as directed by the Provider.
- Partner with care team members to develop individual patient plans of care and address gaps in care.
- Perform front desk duties including patient scheduling, medical record requests and abstraction, documentation, coordinating specialist visits, referrals, and other care outside the clinic, check-in, and check-out.
- Record accurate and pertinent data in the medical record according to documentation guidelines.
- Process test results and provide timely results to patients via e-message, mail, or phone.
- Participate in patient outreach to drive engagement.
- Maintain clinical and office supplies and equipment.
