Assist physicians with medical procedures in office. Responsible for phlebotomy, laboratory testing, quality control, instrument troubleshooting, and maintenance. This role involves performing proper quality control procedures before patient testing, executing laboratory blood work and blood draws, and adhering to laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing. The Medical Assistant will perform technical laboratory procedures accurately and precisely, meeting regulatory standards. Responsibilities include preparing blood or bone marrow slides, sending outside labs, and maintaining various logs and records. The position requires adherence to patient identification policies, obtaining vital signs, preparing patients for physicians, and thorough documentation in the medical record. The role also involves managing inventory, troubleshooting instrument malfunctions, ensuring laboratory compliance with state and federal regulations, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Compliance with all laws, regulations, and company policies, including patient confidentiality, is essential. Knowledge of the Nucleus medication dispensing system and assisting with pharmaceutical supplies are also part of the role. Overtime may be required.
