About The Position

Esse Health is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant for the offices of Dr.'s Knapp & Miranda in Florissant and St. Peters. This is an outpatient clinical practice opportunity with no nights, weekends, or holidays. The Medical Assistant will perform back office functions, assist providers with patient care, measure vital signs, perform phlebotomy, and document patient care in the electronic health record (NextGen). The role requires a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to travel between two office locations.

Requirements

Formal training which will probably be indicated by a graduation certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
CPR Certification.
PC/Windows proficiency.
Willingness to assign high priority to patient comfort and satisfaction.
Ability to communicate effectively and to work compatibly with physicians, coworkers, and employees in other departments.
Willingness to travel between two office locations: one in St. Peters and one in Florissant.

Nice To Haves

The Medical Assistant is highly visible in their interactions with patients and must therefore project a positive office image at all times including smiling, greeting patients with enthusiasm, and maintaining an upbeat, positive attitude in all interactions with patients and coworkers.
Medical coding familiarity.

Responsibilities

Perform back office functions
Assist the provider in the interviewing, examination and treatment of patients
Measure vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight and height
Perform phlebotomy
Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the electronic health record (NextGen)
Coordinate care with other members of the healthcare team
