About The Position

The Medical Assistant position provides the patient with their initial experience of the clinical department. It is expected the Medical Assistant will provide exceptional customer service to patients, guests, and vendors at all times, regardless of the circumstances of a situation. The position is responsible for the efficient and accurate processing of patient information over the telephone and in-person, responding efficiently to patient, pharmacy, and lab requests. This position is required to perform both administrative and clinical duties as needed.

Requirements

Exceptional customer service skills.
Ability to efficiently and accurately process patient information.
Ability to respond efficiently to patient, pharmacy, and lab requests.
Proficiency in administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding.
Proficiency in clinical duties such as assisting with patient care procedures, preparing examination rooms, obtaining patient histories, assisting with examinations, and maintaining medications and supplies.
Knowledge of infection control methods.
Ability to maintain a clean clinical area.

Responsibilities

Provide exceptional customer service to patients, guests, and vendors.

Perform administrative duties including scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding for insurance purposes.
Perform clinical duties including assisting with direct patient care procedures and related tasks.
Prepare examination rooms.
Greet patients.
Obtain patient histories and documentation.
Assist with examinations.
Maintain medications and supplies.
Communicate or place orders for supplies as needed.
Educate and advise patients within established parameters.
Practice infection control methods.
Maintain a clean clinical area.
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
