About The Position

As a Medical Assistant, you play a vital role in providing quality and compassionate care to patients. You will support providers and nursing leadership by performing administrative and clinical tasks, ensuring a seamless patient experience. Your contributions are essential in maintaining the high standards of care at Henry Ford Health.

Requirements

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160-hour minimum), OR Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five years, OR Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of one year of experience in clinical medical assisting, OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), OR Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year clinical experience in a clinical medical setting within the past five years, OR Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in a clinical medical setting within the past five years.
Current BLS-C upon hire or successful completion by the end of orientation.

Nice To Haves

Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience.

Responsibilities

Greet and escort patients to the exam room, ensuring a welcoming environment.
Obtain and record accurate medical histories from patients.
Measure and document vital signs, contributing to patient assessments.
Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring comfort and readiness.
Assist providers during examinations and procedures, facilitating efficient care delivery.
