Medical Assistant - OBGYN
About The Position
This role supports a busy OBGYN office with multiple providers and additional clinical staff. Under the direction of the Supervisor, the Medical Assistant performs select clinical functions to enhance the delivery of patient care. Responsibilities include preparing patients for physical examinations, obtaining specimens, conducting routine laboratory and diagnostic tests, recording results, and potentially performing phlebotomy. The role also involves administering selected medications/injections under the general supervision of a physician and performing clerical duties related to clinic operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Current CPR Certification issued by American Heart Association
Nice To Haves
- Certified, Registered, and Clinical Certified Medical Assistants (CMA, RMA or CCMA) are required to provide current certification or registration through American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA), National Health career Association (NHA) or any other certifying agency and should have at least 6 months of clinical experience.
- Candidates who are not certified or registered should have at least one year of clinical experience.
