A Non-Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) performs essential clinical and administrative tasks, like taking vital signs, scheduling, managing records, room prep, and assisting doctors, but with a more limited scope than certified MAs, often relying on on-the-job training, and focusing on foundational patient care and office flow in clinics and private practices. Key duties include interviewing patients, measuring vitals, preparing exam rooms, handling paperwork, and basic patient communication, all while working under physician supervision. The employee must be able to deliver age-appropriate care by applying the knowledge and skills required for patients served in the practice, apply principles of growth and development across the lifespan, assess and interpret patient data to identify age-specific needs, and provide care in alignment with unit policies and procedures.
