This full-time Medical Assistant position at Atrium Health Lincolnton Urology is responsible for providing patient care within the scope of practice, adhering to all policies and procedures, and maintaining competency in their specialty area. The role involves performing essential patient visit tasks such as taking vital signs, reconciling medications, reviewing medical history, conducting health maintenance screenings, and assisting providers with procedures. Additionally, the Medical Assistant will handle laboratory duties including venipuncture, specimen collection, and processing, as well as performing Point of Care testing (POCT) and administering medications and vaccines safely. Other duties may include managing medication refills, insurance authorizations, completing logs, patient messaging, ordering supplies, scheduling appointments, and making referrals. Effective communication, teamwork, and maintaining a clean, well-stocked work environment are crucial. The position requires the ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate for the age of the patients served, understanding principles of growth and development across the lifespan.
