Medical Assistant -Cardiology
About The Position
The Medical Assistant works in the Cardiology Department of the Heart and Vascular Institute at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, Maine. The role assists physicians with patient care, clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks; manages appointments and patient charts; and provides patients with information to help them use and benefit from clinic services. The Medical Assistant is expected to convey a positive image of the organization. Central Maine Healthcare is an integrated healthcare delivery system serving approximately 400,000 residents across central, western, and midcoast Maine through more than 40 primary and specialty care locations. Its facilities include Central Maine Medical Center, Bridgton Hospital, and Rumford Hospital, and it is also home to the Maine College of Health Professions.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, or relevant experience, for new hires effective April 2014.
- Graduate from an accredited school of medical assistance.
- Medical Assistant certification.
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current certification.
- At least one year of work experience in a public-contact job.
