About The Position

Gastro Florida is seeking competent, conscientious, service-oriented experienced Medical Assistants with strong character to work in one of their gastroenterology medical offices in Tampa Bay. This individual will predominantly be supporting the clinician in the exam rooms, as well as along side the clinician. They will work under the direction of the division practice manager. This role is ideal for someone who is confident in a fast-paced outpatient environment, comfortable with high volume patient loads, and able to integrate quickly with minimal training.

Requirements

• Previous specialty office care experience is required
• Reliable attendance is essential
• Ability to float to different locations as needed
• Immediate availability preferred
• Criminal background and drug screening required as well as excellent professional references.

Nice To Haves

• Previous GI experience helpful

Responsibilities

• Patient check-in and check-out.
• Insurance verification.
• Patient intake, vitals, medication reconciliation
• Completing medication refills and processing medication prior authorizations
• Order entry, CPT coding, and supporting the providers with documentation
• Understanding of common medications used to treat chronic conditions
• Strong proficiency with eClinicalWorks (ECW)
• Managing the fax inbox, including timely review, routing, and documentation
• Scheduling patient appointments, follow-ups, scheduling procedures (Colon, EGD, etc.) and coordinating provider workflows
