The Medical Assistant will deliver patient care through patient preparation, vital sign collection, and documentation. They will assist with various procedures, exams, and diagnostic equipment, maintaining aseptic techniques during preparation, procedures, and medication administration. The role involves administering medications, treatments, and immunizations under the direction of providers, preparing and organizing patient charts, and communicating with patients regarding test results and care plans. Responsibilities also include scheduling procedures, labs, x-rays, and surgeries, providing pre- and post-surgery information, and assisting with patient outreach. The Medical Assistant will coordinate physician schedules, ensure insurance pre-certifications, and manage patient follow-ups to ensure continuity of care. Maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to organizational standards are crucial. The role also involves educating patients and families, promoting evidence-based resources, and serving as a patient advocate. Additionally, the Medical Assistant will assist in training new colleagues, cross-cover in other clinic areas, document patient care plans, and escalate issues as needed. Ensuring safety checklists and quality controls are completed is also part of the role. The position requires maintaining a working knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and Trinity Health's policies.
