About The Position

Marathon Health is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join their care team. This role is crucial in delivering excellent patient care and ensuring an exceptional guest experience. Due to Marathon Health's unique model, Medical Assistants handle both front desk duties (receptionist) and clinical responsibilities. The company focuses on advanced primary care, mental health, occupational health, musculoskeletal, and pharmacy services, aiming for improved health outcomes and cost savings through a patient-first approach. Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Medical Assistant, preferably in Primary Care.
  • Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program or other related program.
  • CPR/BLS certification required at time of start date.
  • National or state-specific MA certification or registration is strongly preferred. MA certification or registration is required for employment in States where certification/registration is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Phlebotomy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Escort patients to rooms and ensure exam rooms are clean and stocked.
  • Review previous medical information and gather updated health information from patients.
  • Take vital signs, perform blood draws, administer injections, bandage wounds, and assist with procedures.
  • Collaborate with contracted labs for additional tests.
  • Prepare and administer approved medications and immunizations as directed by the Provider.
  • Partner with the care team to develop individual patient plans of care and address gaps in care.
  • Perform front desk duties including patient scheduling, medical record requests and abstraction, documentation, coordinating specialist visits and referrals, check-in, and check-out.
  • Record accurate and pertinent data in the medical record according to documentation guidelines.
  • Process test results and provide timely results to patients.
  • Participate in patient outreach to drive engagement.
  • Maintain clinical and office supplies and equipment.
