About The Position

Pediatric Health Associates is seeking a Medical Assistant to join their team in Plainview, New York. This role is ideal for someone who is compassionate, organized, and energetic, and thrives in a hands-on environment making a difference for children and families. The practice operates on a schedule that includes alternating Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, with specific hours detailed for each day.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of experience in a medical office.
• Familiarity with medical terminology.
• Basic computer skills.
• Confidence in measuring heart rate, blood pressure, respiration, and temperature across all ages.

Nice To Haves

• Certified Medical Assistant.
• Pediatric experience.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR), especially AthenaOne.
• Bilingual (Spanish speakers are highly valued).

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in feeling safe and supported by taking vitals, updating records, and assisting providers.
• Set up, sanitize, and restock exam rooms.
• Maintain accurate documentation, patient history, and electronic medical records.
• Greet families, schedule appointments, answer questions, and handle phone inquiries.
• Assist during procedures and contribute to a positive office environment.
