Medical Assistant (MA) - Pediatric Clinic (Park Ridge)
About The Position
Medical Assistant (MA) needed at Advocate Children's Hospital - Park Ridge. This role is within Advocate Medical Group Yacktman Pediatrics, affiliated with Lutheran General Hospital, a large pediatric primary care clinic and a residency clinic. The clinic serves 60 residents, 10 physicians, and 2 APNs, providing routine physicals, newborn and well-childcare, sick visits, and chronic disease management. The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, with a schedule that includes rotating Saturdays and one evening shift per week. Clinic hours are Monday-Thursday 8:00 am-8:00 pm, Friday 8:00 am-5:00 pm, and Saturday 8:00 am-12:00 pm. The clinic is closed on Sundays and major holidays. As a Medical Assistant, you will be a vital part of the care team, supporting providers, interacting with patients, and ensuring a smooth and compassionate patient experience. Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Must have a medical assistant diploma or 2 years of medical assistant experience or be a certified MA with 2 years of medical assistant experience, to qualify.
Nice To Haves
- Phlebotomy skills are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Welcome patients and support their transition into care.
- Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.
- Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures.
- Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
- Perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
- Document care accurately in the electronic health record.
- Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high-quality, coordinated care.
