About The Position

The Medical Assistant serves as an essential member of the plastic medicine care team, maintaining all patient‑care supplies, supporting the efficient and timely flow of patients, and collaborating closely with physicians and nursing staff to ensure the delivery of high‑quality, professional care to patients and their families.

Requirements

Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days – American Heart Association (AHA)
H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)

Responsibilities

Provides Medical Assistant support to multiple physician practices.
Ensures charges captured on services delivered.
Consistently provides a higher level of direct care as defined by department.
Performs photography, suture/staple removal, drain removal, dressing changes, wound packing and application/instruction in the use of medical supplies.
Performs screenings per provider guidelines: vital signs, height, weight.
Rooms patients and charts in EMR: reason for visit, medication reconciliation, pain score, vital signs, height, weight, health history, family history, etc. when indicated.
Assists physicians and/or nursing staff with various procedures.
Performs photography, suture/staple removal, drain removal, dressing changes, wound packing, application and instruction in medical supplies, and post‑procedure instruction.
Cleans equipment, tables, rooms between patient visits; replaces/restocks supplies and linen.
Orders and maintains unit patient care supplies.
