Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent education.
  • Minimum 1-year experience in Hospital or Clinical setting
  • The ability to obtain National Certification within two years of date of hire with Aviva Health.
  • Current BLS certification (maintaining current certification is required for continued employment Aviva Health).
  • Proven leadership experience
  • Ability to work independently, detail oriented, organized, work effectively under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent computer and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of office procedures, patient flow, triage and scheduling.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word and writing clearly and concisely. Ability to follow verbal and written directions.
  • Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions and deliver upon expectations.
  • Have an understanding of basic medical terminology.

Responsibilities

  • Room patients which includes obtaining vital signs, verifying medications (medication reconciliation), medical history, and obtaining other pertinent information.
  • Assist physicians and nurses as needed.
  • Perform EKG’s.
  • Perform peak flows/spirometry.
  • Administer O2 as directed by provider.
  • Administer respiratory treatments as directed by provider.
  • Perform in-office labs and UDS.
  • Perform routine prescription refills under the supervision of the MA Lead.
  • Enter orders for medication and labs as directed by provider.
  • Scrub charts/huddle with provider and team daily.
  • Perform normal lab call backs.
  • Blood draws, if competency has been signed off.
  • Injections and immunization administration.
  • Assist with procedures.
  • Non-complicated wound care.
  • Suture/staple removal AFTER seen by provider.
  • Stock and clean rooms.
  • Packaging instruments for the Autoclave.
  • Schedule patients for follow-up per provider.
  • Assist team with desktop items.
  • Answer telephone calls.
  • Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures).
  • Expected to be prepared to begin each shift at the scheduled time, meet attendance standards and work the hours necessary to perform the essential functions of the jobs
  • Conform to safety work ethics, be flexible and show dedication to the position and community
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude, is respectful and possesses cultural awareness and sensitivity with all clients, co-workers, and others.
  • Demonstrate a keen understanding of HIPAA regulations and uphold the confidentiality of patient information at all times.
  • Additional duties as needed.
